Steam winter sale is coming anytime soon, thanks to a promotional image from PayPal.

ShackNews reported that the Winter Sale will happen on Dec. 22 and majority of the sales will be offered starting at 10 a.m. PST, based on the image PayPal released.

There was no mention on when the Winter Sale will end, but GameSpot speculates that it will last for about a week, with a possibility that it would go on until the New Year.

The upcoming Winter Sale is expected to offer store-wide discounts all throughout the promo period instead of flash and daily sales. In other words, whatever price a game holds when the sale kicks off, it will be the same price until the conclusion of the sale.

This is in contrary to the daily and flash sales, in which customers need to check out deals every so often, just in case a game's price goes impressively low.

Although a change in the sale approach may not be welcomed by many gamers, it still has its advantages.

According to SiliconAngle, the approach of storewide discounts is beneficial for gamers in many ways since they don't need to spend a lot of time deciding to get a game or not.

It remains to be seen if this year's winter sale will have lesser discounts, but it's already a good thing since gamers don't need to wait for the sale period to end in order to find the best of all deals.

But since the Steam sale in fall, which adopted the new format, was a huge success, it is speculated that Valve will do without flash or daily sales.

Several reports mentioned that it's not the first time that the online payment system revealed the sale in advance.

GameSpot reported that the company had been accurate in providing a tip regarding the sale date. However, the news outlet highlighted that the abovementioned information remains in the unconfirmed category.
