Kara (Melissa Benoist) will deal with her grief over the death of her aunt Astra (Laura Benanti) in the upcoming episode of the hit CBS series "Supergirl."

In "Truth, Justice and the American Way," the nerdy superhero still has not gotten over the fact that her last blood relative from Krypton is now dead. Last episode, Alex (Chyler Leigh) stabbed Astra with a Kryptonite blade to stop her from killing J'onn J'onzz/Hank (David Harewood). It was a fatal wound in the chest, and the warrior soon died. That time, Kara was battling with Non (Chris Vance). She was devastated to see her aunt dying.

Kara never knew that it was her sister who finished off Astra. Hank stopped Alex from telling the blonde superhero about what happened. According to Hank, Alex would always be Kara's superhero, and he did not want that to change. When the siblings finally retired to the apartment, Alex had another chance to tell Kara exactly what happened. She could not make herself say it, though, after seeing how sad her sister was.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg shared how Astra's demise would affect Kara's frame of mind in the next episodes.

"Kara believes in the inherent goodness of people. She thinks that deep down her aunt was more misguided than evil, and if she had more time, she could have brought her back into the light. ... We've seen Astra had some measure of compassion for Kara. As we say on the show, 'Blood bonds us all,'" he shared.

Meanwhile, Kara will also have to deal with Non, who is truly grieving for the loss of the wife he loves. This will reportedly make him a very dangerous foe for Supergirl. Aside from her murderous Kryptonian uncle, Kara will also have to deal with a new villain called Master Jailer (Jeff Branson). TV.com reports that this antihero has developed a warped sense of justice by chasing and killing prisoners who escape from Fort Rozz.

"Supergirl" episode 14 airs Monday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
