'Supergirl' season 2 renewal: Series moving to The CW for new season?; Warner Bros. TV considering fewer episodes

Other networks have been preparing for the day "Supergirl" season 2 is denied by CBS. According to Deadline, The CW has expressed interest in reviving the show should its current home decide to stop the show's flight early.

The said site goes on to enumerate multiple reasons that The CW takes "Supergirl" to further bulk up its lineup. The network is co-owned by CBS and Warner Bros. TV, which makes a switch easier than with other networks.

The CW president Mark Pedowitz also has been vocal about his regret not pursuing the project. So should "Supergirl" isn't renewed for season 2 on CBS, fans won't see the end of Melissa Benoist's Kara just yet.

"Supergirl" season 2 is still up in the air as CBS hasn't announced renewal for the DC Comics adaptation. However, the production team has been preparing for a sophomore flight, with talks about moving to a new filming location.

According to Deadline, Warner Bros. TV has made its plans known to the cast and crew to move the production to Vancouver from Los Angeles to reduce costs. The site says that many are not happy about the move.

"Supergirl" has shown commitment to film in California in the hopes of getting a tax credit. However, the show's application for it wasn't approved, drastically affecting the show's budget enough to call for a location change.

"Supergirl" executive producer Greg Berlanti believes that the move to Canada is a logical move, considering all other superhero dramas he is involved in film there.

Warner Bros. TV is planning to trim its budget, which means that if CBS renews the series (a source who spoke to The Wrap claims the network is all for it if not for the high budget making the idea unappealing), there will be fewer episodes for "Supergirl" season 2.

Although the network's silence has worried fans, "Supergirl" has her impressive 2.4 rating and viewership to back itself up. The show was even hailed the top new CBS drama.

Whether or not this will be enough to score a second season, only time will tell.

More recently, I’ve enjoyed Christian movies Unsung Hero and Jesus Revolution on limited release in the UK, but it’s rare for such films to make the multiplex chains.
