The new poster for "Supergirl" season 3 has been revealed, hinting at the show's main heroine, Kara Danvers/Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), taking the fight all by herself. As the Kryptonian femme fatale gained a handful of allies in the huge battle against the Daxamites last season, the upcoming third season might show Kara going on solo missions instead, at least for the first few episodes.

As reported by Syfy Wire, the latest "Supergirl" season 3 poster highlighted the caption "Flying Solo," with the picture of Kara hanging in mid-air. The super heroine appears to remain strong and fearless, in spite of everything that the character had gone through in the previous season. The poster also has lightning bolts behind Kara, which emphasized the large "S," the emblem of Planet Krypton's House of El.

The online publication speculated that Kara will be actually flying solo for most of her future fights in "Supergirl" season 3, even as Team Supergirl recruited more heroes last season. Although, Supergirl has lost one important ally with Mon-El (Chris Wood) needing to leave Kara and Planet Earth in order for him to survive.

Kara is also expected to give more time for her Supergirl persona, meaning that we will see more of the heroine hovering in the sky and donning the red cape as she fights the forces of evil. Fans may see the human side of Kara less often, as that aspect of her character had only brought her pain last season.

Other Team Supergirl members, such as Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) and J'onn J'onnz (David Harewood), may also be seen less often fighting alongside Kara in "Supergirl" season 3. For one, J'onn will be busy dealing with family matters next season, after learning from his father that he is not the last living green martian in the universe. As for Maggie, the character's actress, Lima, has been confirmed to step down to a recurring role in season 3, thus Maggie will not be present most of the time for Kara's aid.

Meanwhile, Comic Book reported that "Supergirl" season 3 might ring the wedding bells for Maggie and Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh). Back in season 2, Alex had already proposed to her girlfriend, with Maggie being all surprised and excited at the same time.

According to TV Line, "Supergirl" season 3 is looking for an actor to play as a reverend in the eighth episode, which is another indication that the much-awaited Sawyer and Danvers nuptials will happen this season.

"Supergirl" season 3 will premiere on Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW network.
