In "Amplification," TV.com reports that Scott (Tyler Posey)'s best buddy will follow up on his suspicions that something is not right in the banshee. Lydia has been in a catatonic state during the midseason finale and she is being cured at the Eichen House. Scott and Stiles frequently come to see her, hoping that she will be well enough to join the pack once more. On his current visit, though, Stiles will reportedly learn that Lydia is in "imminent danger" and resolve to break her out himself.

With the alpha focusing on bringing his pack together again, Stiles will be left with the difficult task of getting Lydia out of the hospital. He will have to face Theo (Cody Christian), who is hatching a plan of his own regarding the banshee. The villain will certainly not let his prized possession be taken away from him. There will be a fight, with neither of them willing to give her up. So why exactly does Theo want Lydia so badly?

Executive producer Jeff Davis offered an explanation to Entertainment Weekly. He said the banshee would be "a critical piece of the season." While the extent of Lydia's power still remains to be seen, Dr. Valack's (Steven Brand) prophecy during the midseason premiere is a clue on how powerful she can be. According to him, Lydia has the capacity to shatter anyone's skull once she has been taught how. Davis said that in one of the upcoming episodes, a character in the series would be describing the banshee as the person who could save them all.

"Her finding her power is critical to the season. That's why we decided to make episodes 15 and 16 a two-part episode around her, which is the breaking-Lydia-out-of-Eichen episode," the executive producer shared.

"Teen Wolf" season 5 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on MTV.
