The Tesla Model 3 is touted as one of the most advanced electric vehicles on the market once it launches in late 2017, but the company has yet to reveal when exactly the car is going to ship out. Because of the numerous pre-orders, many consumers may not even get their hands on it until 2018.

As noted by a report from The Week, the number of pre-orders indicates that consumers won't be getting it until 2018, and Tesla is prioritizing returning consumers who have bought a Tesla car before, which includes Tesla employees. It is further noted that consumers in the UK won't be getting any shipment until 2018 as well.

With regards to its price, the report notes that it will likely start at £30,000 or $38,000. This would be relatively close to the estimated suggested retail price of $35,000 for the base trim of the Tesla Model 3. Tesla has yet to give a full price list for the vehicle, including its trims and upgrades.

The Tesla Model 3 is stated to be capable of driving 215 miles on a single charge, and it is said that it will use the Tesla supercharging stations. This is with a basic 60 kWh battery, and the report states that Tesla will be offering larger batteries that also offer a larger range.

While an electric car, the vehicle is also noted for being quite powerful, being able to go from 0 to 60 mph in under six seconds. It will come with an improved autopilot feature, and the car is designed to be more spacious, even allowing a full-sized surfboard to easily fit inside without comprising comfort.

According to the report, the Tesla Model 3 does have a few rivals such as the Chevrolet Bolt, which is already available, and BMW's own upcoming electric vehicle, an EV variant of their already successful 3-Series. Mercedes and Volkswagen have also expressed interest in competing as well.
