'Tesla VS Lovecraft' Xbox release date news: Fast-paced shooter to debut on Xbox One this March 16

10Tons' wacky shooting game "Tesla vs Lovecraft" will be dropping to the Xbox One on March 16. 10Tons/ Tesla vs Lovecraft

If you are a history buff, then you have probably heard of inventor Nikola Tesla and author H.P Lovecraft, two of the past's most ingenious minds.

And although it looks a bit weird seeing those two in a single sentence since both of their fields of expertise are on the opposite side of the coin, users will be surprised to see the two heads facing off against each other in a a new, wacky shooter game developed by 10Tons to be released on the Xbox One this coming March 16.

The game fittingly titled "Tesla vs Lovecraft" will see players take on the character of Tesla, who fights hordes of Lovecraft's hideous monsters in order to recover his stolen inventions.

The game will feature a top-down shooting view where players have to eliminate foes from left to right. Aside from the game's fast-paced style of gameplay, players will also be given teleportation abilities and skills that can be acquired through occasional power-ups.

As the game progresses, players will be able to obtain some of Tesla's stolen inventions that they can then use to fight off Lovecraft's abominations.

"Tesla vs Lovecraft" also features a localized cooperative gameplay, where players can battle against the tide of disfigured monsters with the company of a friend.

Initially, the arena shooter was released on the PC platform through Steam. And since then, the title has received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from the community.

According to reports, the game has sold over 7,000 units on Steam, a pretty impressive feat for a game that is lacking in the marketing department.

Currently, the game is on pre-order for the Xbox One and is valued at $15. It will see an official release this coming March 16.
