Raj (Kunal Nayyar) will finally have the courage to break up with his longtime girlfriend Emily (Laura Spencer) in the upcoming episode of the hit CBS series "The Big Bang Theory."

In "The Valentino Submergence," Star Watch Byline reports that Raj will call it quits with Emily and attempt to start a new relationship with Claire (Janelle Mara). Unfortunately for him, the girl already has a boyfriend, but Raj does not know that until after he broke Emily's heart. When he tries to go back to her, the latter does not want to accept him anymore. This leaves Raj feeling like a cad and extremely sorry, having lost two women in one shot.

Back in September last year, executive producer Steve Molaro told TV Line that Raj and Emily would continue to date in season 9, even though he knew the relationship was not meant to last. Raj has reportedly come to realize in his heart that Emily was not the right woman for him, but his personality prevented him from taking control of the situation.

"For a sensitive and insecure guy like him, the thought of choosing to break up with someone and then be alone is difficult. That's something he will be wrestling further in season 9," the showrunner said.

Meanwhile, also in episode 15, Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) has big news for her husband Howard (Simon Helberg). Unfortunately, the discovery of a rabbit floating in their newly purchased hot tub and the furry animal biting Howard will distract them so much, she is not able to share what she has found out. As they race toward the emergency room, Bernadette consoles herself that she will just tell him she is pregnant next time.

Elsewhere, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) will go out on a date, their first after getting married. The happy moment will be marred, however, by the long wait for a table in a posh restaurant. In the end, they will opt to buy takeout burgers, which they will proceed to eat in the car.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
