"The Crow" reboot to start filming soon

"Justice League" star Jason Momoa says production for the reboot of fantasy thriller "The Crow Reborn" will begin soon.

The 38-year-old actor teased the movie via his Instagram by posting an artwork of the iconic make-up of Eric Draven/The Crow. In the caption, he said "I've been waiting for sooooo long. @corinhardy let's do this brother aloha j." The post also included a photo of him and director Hardy.

After a very long wait, series creator James O'Barr finally announced back in September that productions for the film revival is coming soon, after it landed a director. "As of right now, it's slated to start pre-production in February with a very talented British director named Corin Hardy," O'Barr told ScreenGeek at the Los Angeles Comic Con held last month. He added that he will be working closely with Hardy and that he will be involved in every aspect of the film.

According to previous reports, "The Crow" reboot spent at least a decade in hibernation at Relativity Pictures, with directors and actors coming in and out, before it landed in Sony Pictures and finally got moving.

Before Momoa, actors like Bradley Cooper, Jack Huston, and Luke Evans have all been linked to the film. Because of its slow progress, fans have been wondering whether the iconic Khal Drogo from "Game of Thrones" was still pushing with the project. His Instagram post is the confirmation everyone has been waiting for.

"The Crow" is a 1994 film based on the indie comics written by O'Barr and first published in 1989.

It follows the story of Eric (Brandon Lee), a man who was brutally murdered but miraculously came back to life to avenge his and his fiancé's death.

The original film, directed by Alec Proyas, became famous not just for its dark theme, but also because Lee accidentally died on set when they used a gun that, apparently, was loaded with one bullet from its previous use.
