A lot of fans were surprised to hear about the new "Skyrim" board game that will be released next year. After all, it is the first ever Monopoly game based on the "Elder Scrolls V" game. Regardless, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" is already available for pre-order via various outlets should gamers be interested in trying it out for themselves.

According to IGN, the "Skyrim" Monopoly game is pretty much the same as the original classic game, which gives the players the ability to buy and sell properties around Tamriel. Players can create villages in Winterhold or even break the ground to build castles in Windhelm, for example.

In the Monopoly version of the game, players will need not worry about getting slaughtered by the fiercest dragons, though they will still need to worry about these creatures devastating their hard-earned properties.

The game, despite being a reimagining of a timeless board game, is still faithful to its source material. Despite being a Monoply game, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's" lore, characters, and the locations depicted in it are straight from the popular title. However, aside from this, nothing really much is known about it, as little else has been shown from the set apart from its box cover.

As fans can remember, Gameranx revealed that "Skyrim" is not the first ever Monopoly set based off a game made by Bethesda. After all, the company also had a "Fallout" Monopoly set released not too far from the past.

Also, for those who want to get into other video game-based Monopoly sets, Merchoid is set to release a "Final Fantasy VII"-themed Monopoly set a month after the "Skyrim" set is released.

The "Skyrim" Monopoly game will be released in March 2017 and will be sold for $48.

As for the video game, the Special Edition of the "Elder Scrolls V" will be released on Friday, Oct. 28 for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
