Series figurehead of "The Expendables" series, Sylvester Stallone, had reports of him leaving the franchise last year. Since then, nothing was sure about the movie or whether it would even push through without him. However, just recently, Stallone declared that "The Expendables 4" is definitely on the way with him on board.

The news first came from Stallone himself posting an Instagram photo of "The Expendables 4" with him in the center, along with Lee Christmas, who played by Jason Statham. "Just when you thought it was safe to go outside... They're coming back!" reads Stallone's Instagram post. Fans would definitely love the original crew to be back to end the movie series.

He then also posted another photo on Instagram, and this time, he shared information about his character, Barney. "BARNEY WILL BE BACK! PLUS THE CREW AND A COUPLE NEW MEMBERS...," reads the post. Not only does this say that Stallone is not leaving, but fans can expect some faces to appear when the movie comes out.

The period of uncertainty for the fourth title in the series started when "The Expendables 3" did not exactly hit the desired numbers for the US box office. Three years later, 2017, Stallone apparently decided to leave due to creative differences with producer Avi Lerner. Schwarzenegger then also said that he would not do another movie if Stallone is not in it.

On Lerner's side of things, he does deny any of this. Instead, he mentioned in interviews, as per IGN, that he believes he can still get Stallone back on board to finally finish the last movie in the series. Thankfully, that is exactly what happened.

There is no news yet as to when exactly "The Expendables 4" will be released. Although the aim was to release it this year, there have been no official announcements about the film. Fans should stay tuned for future developments.
