'The Fosters' Season 3 Episode 5 spoilers: Is Mariana pregnant?

Stef and Lena discovers a pregnancy kit in the newest episode of "The Fosters." ABC Family

One of the kids could be pregnant in the fifth episode of "The Fosters" Season 3, which will air July 6 on ABC Family.

Cartermatt reveals the shocking news, when Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) discover a pregnancy kit in the trash. The revelation is accompanied by flashes of Mariana (Cierra Ramirez), hinting at the possibility that she is the one carrying a child.

In the previous episode, Mariana slept with Wyatt (Alex Saxon), Callie's (Maia Mitchell) ex-boyfriend, when her own beau refused to have sex with her. She was later seen yelling at her mother Ana (Alexandra Barreto), "What if I get pregnant, just like you!"

Meanwhile, Callie convinces Brandon (David Lambert) to go on a mysterious trip with her. They end up in Mexico, where the International Business Times posits she is looking for information about AJ's (Tom Williamson) brother.

The two have been romantically linked in the past two seasons, but they seem to have come to terms with that fact that they are now foster siblings. Brandon, though, still gets jealous when he sees her with AJ.

In the latest promo of Episode 5, the eldest Foster child is seen confronting Callie about her blossoming relationship with AJ.  She tells him nothing is going on between her and the new foster child.

Brandon is not convinced, however, and scathingly says: "I am not blind Callie." To this, she answers: "You kind of are, Brandon."

Episode 4 also saw Jude (Hayden Byerly) and Connor (Gavin McIntosh) finally accepting who they are, admitting that they love each other at the LGBTQ prom night.

Executive Producer Joanna Johnson explained to The Hollywood Reporter, how the two actors remained true to what the two characters were going through in the show.

"We try and keep it grounded. They're only 13 and we certainly want to keep a certain innocence about them... We're just really exploring it. It's new ground, so we try and be as true as we can. It's been important to talk to young LGBT kids and really hear their experiences because they've certainly grown up in a world where there's still some intolerance."

"The Fosters" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
