'The Good Wife' season 7 spoilers: Alicia's firm goes head-to-head with Cary Agos Lee in premiere

The rivalry between Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) new firm and Cary Agos Lee (Matt Czuchry) will be front and center when the CBS series "The Good Wife" returns in October.

Co-creator Robert King told TV Line that things are going to be "sticky" between the two law companies in season 7. They will reportedly be sharing the same investigator, and this will fuel the competition between them.

It has been previously reported that a new player, Alex (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), will be helping Alicia in establishing her new business venture. Does this mean he is also the investigator hired by Cary Agos Lee?

In a previous interview, Morgan described his character, without exactly revealing the part he would be playing for the two firms.

"I can tell you that he's an ex-lawyer who got into some trouble and finds himself now being an investigator. He's got a laid-back personality and a quick wit," Morgan said.

When asked about possible romantic association with Margulies's character, the actor said he was still in the dark. The producers were apparently keeping the potential love story a secret, but Morgan said he was aware of the press that it got. He did hint, however, that Alex and Alicia's first meeting would be interesting.

"She's going to hire him, so, yeah, they do hit it off. She's intrigued by his personality," the actor said.

Meanwhile, Jess Weixler, who plays Robyn in the series, would not be part of season 7. King confirmed that the actress has been working on other projects in Los Angeles and "flying her out for every episode" was not feasible.

He was quick to assure the fans, however, that the situation "may still change," pertaining to the show's openness to bring her back once she's free of her commitments. The creator also teased them that perhaps they could coax Weixler into moving to New York, because she was just "amazing" to work with.

"Good Wife" season 7 will premiere on Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
