In the DC universe, Batman is known as the anonymous knight of Gotham City who hides in the shadows, who does his superhero work unnoticed, and who has a dark past. Seen as non-humorous and brooding, it looks like that's not going to be the case in the upcoming spinoff of "The Lego Movie."

"The Lego Batman Movie" endeavors to show that the masked hero has a funny bone, and it is something worth noticing. The most recent trailer aims to show his backstory and where he is going to in a very unconventional way, separating it from the serious adaptations.

Batman appears to have the time of his life as scores of fans from all over the city can't wait to have a glimpse of him. People imagine he's going to a fun-filled party, only to find out that he's simply alone in his bat cave. This was further illustrated by Alfred, butler and father-surrogate, as he tells Batman that he fears connection.

The movie brings back some characters into the story, with the adopted Robin turning out to be hilarious by being an eyesore to Batman. He's also going to be teaming up with Barbara Gordon, more commonly known as Batgirl to DC fans. Of course, no Batman movie can be fun without Joker, only in this film, he shows up as a lovesick puppy.

From what was shown on the teaser, it appears the focal point of the film is still going to be the same as the original movie, that is, everything is cool when you are part of a team. Batman is going to have to conquer his fear of associating with other people by coming out of his shell and welcoming others into his life if he is to save Gotham from the Joker.

Batman/Bruce Wayne is going to be voiced by Will Arnett while the ever-loyal Alfred will be voiced by Ralph Fiennes. Rosario Dawson brings Barbara Gordon's character to life, Michael Cera is slated to be the irritating yet lovable Robin/ Dick Grayson, and no one can do the Joker in a comical way better than Zach Galifianakis. Some of the characters who have yet to make cameos in teasers are Harley Quinn voiced by Jenny Slate and Mayor McCaskill by the diva herself, Mariah Carey, according to IMDb.

"The Lego Batman Movie" is expected to glide into theaters on Feb. 10, 2017.
