Pixelated horror video game "The Long Reach" by Painted Black Games is set to launch on March 14 for the Nintendo Switch. The eerie horror-thriller title will bring gamers to a town in New Hampshire filled with horror, psychological complexities, and death.

Merge Games announced the video game's release through a short trailer highlighting its gameplay. The storyline of the game takes place in a fictional town in New Hampshire called Baervox.

According to the game's description, an "experience-sharing program" being conducted at the General Education research facility went down south and resulted in people in town having nightmares, dreams, and hallucinations with their eyes wide open. The teaser showed some gruesome content but were not that disturbing with the game's pixelated graphics design. People were also amazed at the game's creepy soundtrack accompanied with surprises and blood.

The main protagonist of the game will solve puzzles, uncover secrets, talk to a bunch of people, and more in order to progress. Merge Games also dropped a name for the good guy, Calvin, but then followed it up with "this is an example of the lies." The video game company added, "You won't be forced to figure everything out. Escape if you wish, in fact we encourage you to run for your life." According to Merge, "The Long Reach" draws inspiration from "The Cave" and "Lone Survivor."

The video game received great reviews from critics who were given access to a demo version. A few people who saw the trailer were also excited for the game's release this coming March.

"The Long Reach" will be digitally released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, and PC. The game is valued at $14.99 for all video gaming consoles and platforms. A Boxed Signature Edition for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita will also be available upon its release for $35 or £25.
