'The Originals' season 3 episode 14 spoilers: Stefan Salvatore crosses over to deal with Klaus and the Strix

 The CW

The highly anticipated crossover between "The Originals" and "The Vampire Diaries" will finally take place in "The Originals" season 3 episode 14, titled "A Streetcar Named Desire." Stefan Salvatore (guest star Paul Wesley) himself will be making an appearance and may be the key to saving Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) from the Strix.

Klaus and Elijah are shown in the latest promo trailer confronting the Strix and Aya (Tracy Ifeachor). Before they can make their move, the two are cast under a dangerous spell that renders them immobile and "useless" for the time being.

It appears that the spell cast upon the brothers transports their consciousness into a different plane of existence, where their powers and abilities have no effect. In the real world, their bodies are laid out in a pool of water as the Strix coven of witches prepares to conduct a dark ritual upon them.

The offiical synopsis from Cartermatt reveals that Aya and the witches of the Strix will push forward with a risky spell that might be able to kill either of the brothers for good. This is what will promt Stefan to join in the efforts to save them as his powers may be the strength needed for the team's survival.

Alongside Stefan will be Freya (Riley Voelkel). She'll be leading the attack against the Strix. Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will also be joining in the fight to save Klaus and Elijah.

Despite the added fire power and Stefan's assistance, fans now speculate that Elijah may be killed off before the end of the episode, leading to events that could alter Klaus's character forever.

Not everything in the episode has to deal with Freya and Stefan's efforts to save the brothers as the synopsis also reveals Davina (Danielle Campbell) will be relying on a very dangerous plan that could potentially take her another step closer in finally reuniting with Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic).

"The Originals" season 3 episode 14 will air this Feb. 26.
