'The Originals' season 5 spoilers: Julie Plec teases Caroline, Klaus storylines and other major details

Fans have been waiting for the release of "The Originals" season 5 since the coming of the original "The Vampire Diaries" star has been revealed. Candice King is set to grace the final season of the "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off series to reprise her role as Caroline. With that, viewers are now waiting to witness her reunion with Klaus (Joseph Morgan).

A lot of fans are expecting to see Caroline and Klaus rekindling their love in The CW series. However, in a Q&A of the show's creator and showrunner Julie Plec's Twitter page for the benefit of Hispanic Federation's Hurricane Maria relief program in Puerto Rico, she revealed the two's relationship will not be the new installment's main story.

"100% the true ship of the season is Klaus and his family," she tweeted. In fact, Klaus' relationship with his daughter, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), and his siblings will be the main focus of "The Originals" season 5.

However, fans should not be upset as Klaus and Caroline will have a lot of time together in the final season of "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off series. But, viewers will never just see her doing things with Klaus as she also has her own story arc.

In "The Originals" season 5, she will be seen thinking about her past. She will be comparing her life as a teenager with her life now as an adult. Although it seems like the final season will be all about Caroline, fans will also hear something a little about Cami (Leah Pipes).

Aside from that, Plec also teased viewers are going to see Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and Davina (Danielle Campbell) in the show's 11<sup>th episode. Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies), too, are going to equally deal with their "love and pain." All and all, the showrunner cleared the final season of "The Originals" will never be just about relationships, but the love between the Mikaelson family.

"The Originals" season 5 is expected to be released in 2018 on The CW.
