'The Rhythm Section' update: Blake Lively steps out in a complete make-under

Blake Lively was virtually unrecognizable in the sets of upcoming mystery-thriller "The Rhythm Action."

Staying true to the spy movie, the 30-year-old actress underwent a complete transformation for the role, and anyone who would have seen her on the streets would never have realized she is the former "Gossip Girl" star.

The normally glamorous A-lister of the Upper East Side was photographed on the streets of Dublin, Ireland looking worlds away from her Hollywood look. The mother-of-two has traded her classic long gowns for tousled baggy sweat clothes, her beautiful golden locks for an unkempt bob that was sometimes covered by a far from stylish beret, her posh pouch for a black plastic shopping bag, and her tan with an unflattering make-up.

For the movie, she was filmed puffing on a cigarette, looking desolate as she sits by a shop doorway.

While the unfashionable combination would never have gotten an invitation to the Met Gala, it was the perfect get-up for the espionage film. "The Rhythm Section" is the adaptation of a four-part novel series written by Mark Burnell. Lively plays the role of Stephanie Patrick, a deadly assassin out for revenge after terrorists bombed their plane, causing the death of her whole family.

After Lively's photos were released, her husband Ryan Reynolds poked fun at her on his Instagram, posting a shot of her looking dismal, and captioned it with #nofilter.

The five-year couple are known for trolling each other in social media. In August, the 41-year-old actor greeted his wife via Instagram. The photo was captioned with "Happy Birthday to my amazing wife" but Lively was hilariously cropped out in the photo, which showed just half of her body and face.

While Lively became a household name in 2007 as Serena van der Woodsen of "Gossip Girl," she has yet to make a movie that could rival her husband's "Green Lantern" and "Deadpool." "The Rhythm Section" may be just the break she is waiting for.
