The Sims 4 Seasons DLC update: New June 2018 DLC offers gameplay options for weather

The Sims 4's next expansion pack, Seasons, is set to launch in just a few weeks, bringing in some fun new gameplay options that reflect the different seasons of spring, summer, fall and winter.

Players will be able to splash around in puddles and build snowmen, while greenfingered players can indulge in a spot of gardening and flower arranging.

And of course, there will be plenty of opportunity for some summer fun, including playing around with water balloons.

The new attire options include cute rain jackets and swimwear.  In the winter, Sims can wrap up warm in winter hats and gloves to build the snowmen.

There will also be plenty of fun to be had on an ice rink and roller rink.  But beware the heavy rainfalls which may end in electrocution!

Being all about the seasons, players will be able to enjoy the Christmas season, cozying up warm inside a nice living room complete with Christmas tree, decorations and gifts.  Sims will be able to exchange gifts with each other although oddly Father Christmas has been renamed Father Winter.

The expansion is making its way out on June 22 so gamers will get to enjoy all the fun then.

Grant Rodiek, lead producer, was quoted by Newsweek as saying that the weather would impact gameplay choices.

"With a vast variety of weather elements that empower the ways players can play with life, The Sims 4Seasons will allow players to use their Sims to tell relatable stories like those they've experienced in real life. The ever-changing weather will transform worlds in unique ways by impacting gameplay choices, Sim's relationships, and Sim's daily life, while also delivering new challenges," he said.

"Our team has worked hard to bring this highly-requested expansion to the game, and The Sims 4 Seasons adds more dimension to The Sims universe than ever before."
