'The Sims 5' release date, gameplay rumors: EA getting ready for new installment, to be released in 2019

"Sims 5" in the works, game rumored to be released in 2019 EA Games

The fifth installment for the beloved "Sims" franchise has been making rounds on the internet with rumors about the game's current development and window launch date on the front end of the speculations.

It has been four years since the last installment in the beloved virtual character franchise was released, and fans are currently on curious mode as to when the new title for the series will be dropping.

According to reports, Electronic Arts (EA), the game originator, has already been getting ready for the "Sims 5" game; however, it is still unknown whether it is in the development stage or if a window launch announcement is going to be shared soon.

Recent rumors suggest that, although EA has yet to issue any confirmation, the game is set for a release sometime in 2019. This window launch date is speculated to be announced early or late this year.

In contrast with this, others suggest that the new installment will likely not appear until 2020 seeing as "Sims 4," regardless of it being the best-selling game in the years 2014 and 2015, received backlash from gamers and critics alike for its reduced open-world environment and lack of vehicles in-game.

The Gamer says that due to the previous game's shortcomings, it will take a longer time for EA and the developers of the game franchise to redeem themselves and regain the reputation the "The Sims" franchise once had.

In line with this, features that were removed from the previous iteration are set to make a return primarily the open-world setting and the comeback of automobiles and vehicles. In addition, the new title will be imbued with updated character customizations, an improved ageing system, and enhanced graphics.

Fans should always take these speculations with a grain of salt until official statements and confirmations have been shared. As of present time, EA has yet to issue any confirmation regarding the development and the release of the "Sims 5."
