Caroline (Candice King) will take drastic measures in order to protect her twin daughters from the clutches of the Siren in the next episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.

In the episode directed by Paul Wesley, Caroline will do everything to find her daughters after Seline (Kristen Gutoskie) took them in the previous episode. This is why she and Stefan (Wesley) will race against time in order to save the twins.

However, the twins' father, Alaric (Matt Davis), will not be happy with Caroline's decisions to protect them. This will cause further conflict that could compromise the future of their family, especially after Caroline and Stefan get married.

In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Julie Plec revealed that there will be lots of hurdles in Caroline and Stefan's relationship in the eighth and final season of "The Vampire Diaries."

"They've been growing as a team, they've had their ups and their downs, they've had a lot of hurdles preventing them from being able to be happy and we knew we did need some happiness in this otherwise bleak scenario," Plec stated.

The executive producer also explained that focusing on Caroline and Stefan's relationship is important in the series since the other fan-favorite pairings in the series like Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev), and Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Enzo are both in peril at the moment. "It was fun to be able to give Stefan and Caroline a sense of a happy ending to come, even if it doesn't get that far. It's going to be a fun road to travel," Plec also said.

The synopsis for the episode titled "Detoured On Some Random Backwoods Path to Hell" also revealed that Stefan's life will be in danger after he tried to help Enzo (Michael Malarkey) in fighting Sybil's (Nathalie Kelley) latest evil move.

The next episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will air on Friday, Dec. 2.
