"The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman explained the reason why the zombie apocalypse video game "The Walking Dead" by Overkill Software is delayed yet again. Kirkman promises the upcoming video game will be one of the greatest games there is.

As reported by Game Rant, Kirkman stated during a conversation with Overkill's developers that they want the video game to be "as great as it can be." He also shared that the development of the game needed more time to be fully maximized for the best video gaming experience. Kirkman said, "We're not making a date here. We're making a great game."

Overkill's "The Walking Dead" has been in development for many years now and was supposed to come out in 2016. As a holiday treat, Overkill working with PlayStation released the first-ever trailer of the video game during the second week of December.

The first trailer introduces the new character of the video game, Aidan. The trailer shows Aidan residing and working in Washington, D.C. which later turned into a wasteland with the undead walking the ground. The trailer ignites excitement among fans, and many of them have already expressed interest in purchasing the video game.

Aidan is one of the game's four major characters. Overkill already released a picture revealing the facial appearance of all four characters, Aidan, an old man, and two women.

Overkill Software is working with 505 Games and Skybound Entertainment for the development of the video game. The official release date of the video game is yet to be announced. The game is expected to hit stores worldwide during the fall of 2018. The game will be made available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

According to a news release by Gamasutra, the gameplay of "The Walking Dead" is a co-op multiplayer FPS that relies on strategy. The storyline of the video game is based on Kirkman's original "The Walking Dead" graphic novels.
