The next episode reveals Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) people at The Sanctuary. Meanwhile, Daryl (Norman Reedus) has been taken hostage and will go to dark places in his mind.

Previously in "The Walking Dead" season 7, King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and his Kingdom were introduced to the show. The Kingdom is a thriving and resourceful community headed by King Ezekiel, who has a tiger companion named Shiva. Ezekiel used to be a zoo caretaker who —began using his knack for theater to play the role of King in an effort to keep the Kingdom peaceful and in order.

However, unknown to his subjects, King Ezekiel pays a tribute to the Saviors, but he is planning to separate from them soon.

In the upcoming third episode — titled "The Cell" — the other "kingdom" headed by Negan will be introduced in the show. According to the episode 7 promo, "A new group of survivors seem to have it all in their impressive community; however, there is a price."

This community is called The Sanctuary, where Negan's Saviors rule. In The Sanctuary, Daryl seems more terrorized than he's ever been. Daryl has lost his trademark jacket and crossbow, and instead he is wearing a shirt with the letter "A" painted on it, which is presumed to be the Savior branding.

Negan took Daryl to use his captivity against Rick (Andrew Lincoln), but it seems that he has other intentions. Negan even tells Daryl, "You don't scare easy. I like that."

In an interview with Comic Book, Reedus explains what Daryl will be going through since he was taken hostage by Negan.

"He goes to a very, very dark, dark place. It's a combination of hatred. It's a combination of self-loathing. It's different from when he first started on the show. He has a big chip on his shoulder. He thought people wouldn't like him. He didn't give a shit. He hates you, too. It turns now into he kind of hates himself. He hates the world that we're in, and he doesn't lose the fight in him, but he definitely no longer sees anything good in the world, that's for sure," explained Reedus.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
