This week on "The Walking Dead," Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his crew paid a visit to Alexandria, demanding that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the others should give them whatever they want. At the end of the hour, Rick told Michonne (Danai Gurira) something about his daughter to make her understand why he had to obey the Saviors' leader.

It has been a week since Rick's group had a run-in with Negan, and the latter went to Alexandria to see what he and his band of thugs can get from the community. Negan took all of the Alexandrians' guns and mattresses, and at this point, Rick was already so terrified that he even made Michonne turn over a shotgun that wasn't included in the town's tally. Later, Negan asked about Maggie (Lauren Cohan), making it plain that he was interested in Glenn's (Steven Yeun) widow. With Father Gabriel's (Seth Gilliam) help, Rick was able to make Negan believe that Maggie succumbed to her sickness.

Towards the end of the hour, Rick told Michonne that he knows that his daughter isn't his and that she is the result of his late wife's affair with his former best friend, Shane (Jon Bernthal), but he has chosen to accept her and will protect her with his life. He then asked Michonne if she could accept this new way of life, and she said that she was going to try.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Lincoln talked about Rick's revelation, saying that it was a great way for the audience to understand the character's actions and his submission to Negan.

"It's a very important moment in understanding his psyche and going, 'This is what I've been doing for the last two years. I've accepted the situation and I will accept the situation if it's going to save lives and if it's going to protect the people I love. I will take it,'" Lincoln explained.

Next week, in the episode titled "Go Getters," members of the group try to find safety at the Hilltop Colony before it's too late.

In the promo for the episode, Maggie is seen at the Hilltop and is very much alive, revealing that this is the place where she and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) went after their first encounter with Negan. The place's overseer, Gregory (Xander Berkeley) senses that danger is coming as some of Negan's thugs enter the community.

"Maggie said that her people can take care of the Saviors," says Gregory. "So far all they've done is put our community at risk."

"The Walking Dead" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
