'The Walking Dead' season 8 casting news: Three actors promoted to series regulars next season

Pollyanna McIntosh's character Jadis is one of the three characters who had been promoted as series regulars in the next installment of "The Walking Dead" AMC

After the departure of some of the most well-loved characters in season 7, three characters had been revealed to be promoted to series regulars in "The Walking Dead" season 8.

TVLine reported that Enid, Simon, and Jadis will all return as series regular characters in the next installment of the fan-favorite post-apocalyptic zombie drama.

Enid, portrayed by Katelyn Nacon, is known as the young resident from Alexandria. She appears to be the love interest of Carl (Chandler Riggs) in the series.

Meanwhile, Simon is being portrayed by Steven Ogg. The character is recognized as the right-hand man of the ruthless Savior leader Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

On the other hand, Jadis is being played by Pollyanna McIntosh. In the series, Jadis is known as the leader of the Scavangers, the group known for settling in a junkyard.

In the previous season, beloved characters like Steven Yeun's Glenn and Michael Cudlitz's Abraham met their violent demise in the season premiere when Negan clubbed them to death using his spiked baseball bat. On the other hand, Sonequa Martin-Green's character Sasha ended up dead in the season finale when she sacrificed herself by taking suicide pills to save the others.

The eighth season of "The Walking Dead" will reportedly center on the all-out war of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his coalition with Negan and his men.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lincoln revealed that things will fall into its proper place in the upcoming season of "The Walking Dead." According to the actor: "It's been a lot of placing the chess pieces and positioning and introducing key players in this landscape. And I think now we get to start really playing the game. The game is afoot, as they say."

AMC will release the premiere episode of "The Walking Dead" season 8 sometime in fall 2018.
