'Thor: Ragnarok' updates: Film's director teases Natalie Portman's Jane Foster character still part of movie

After it was reported earlier that Natalie Portman's Jane Foster character cannot be expected to be featured anew in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok," it is now suspected that Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) ladylove may be a part of the movie after all.

Amid the questions of the fans why Jane Foster is not part of the upcoming third and final "Thor" movie, it was revealed last March that the reason for the non-inclusion of the God of Thunder's love interest in the past two "Thor" movies is that the Asgardian god and the average human had broken up.

"We wanted Thor to encounter somebody that was near his equal and that his relationship with Jane may have evolved in unexpected ways in between 'The Dark World' and 'Ragnarok,' and we wanted to pit him against a character who was much more his equal and in many ways his superior," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told Entertainment Weekly back then.

However, according to recent reports, there is a possibility for Portman's character to appear in "Thor: Ragnarok" after all. Speculations on Jane Foster appearing in the upcoming Marvel Studios movie stemmed from the Twitter post of "Thor: Ragnarok" director Taika Waititi, where he uploaded a photo of Portman's appearance in the movie "Leon: The Professional" and her current photo.

While both photos are contrasted by Portman's age, with the current one showing her heavy with child, the actress is seen carrying a pot of plant in both. As Waititi captioned the photos with the words "Heed the signs" and used the hashtag "Ragnarok," some are now suspecting that Portman may still be a part of "Thor: Ragnarok."

Last year, Portman reveals in an interview that Marvel is done with her Jane Foster character. However, she also admits that she is open to the possibility of reprising her role in the event that Marvel Studios reaches out to her for another project.

"As far as I know I'm done. I mean, I don't know if maybe one day they'll ask for an 'Avengers 7,' or whatever, I have no idea. But as far as I know I'm done, but it was a great thing to be a part of," Portman shares in an interview with WSJ Café.

Will fans still see Jane Foster in "Thor: Ragnarok?"

Find out when the movie arrives on Nov. 3.
