Tim Tebow's Cure Hospital opens in the Philippines, specialises in orthopedics

The Tebow CURE Hospital celebrated its grand opening in Davao City this month.

The Tim Tebow Foundation has reached another milestone in the Philippines as it celebrated the grand opening of the Tebow CURE Hospital early this May in Davao City.

The hospital was first envisioned in 2009, and construction began in 2012. In November 2014, the hospital finally received its license and conducted its first surgery in December that same year, according to Religion News.

The Tebow CURE Hospital specialises in pediatric orthopedics, providing charitable treatment to children with conditions such as knock knees, bowed legs, and neglected clubfoot. The hospital also caters to adults in need of consultations and surgery, and provides affordable treatment for those in need of total joint replacements or arthroscopic surgery, as well as treatment for spine conditions and different sports injuries.

"We've been looking forward to this day for a long time," said Dale Brantner, President and CEO of CURE International. "After many years of prayer and much hard work, I am thrilled to be able to say the Tebow CURE Hospital is officially open! In this place, we will share the love of Jesus and bring physical healing to children and families who desperately need it."

Leron Lehman, Executive Director of the hospital, added that they are all very excited to be opening the doors in Davao City, and they are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support they have received from the community, donors, and other partners.

"We are already providing life-changing surgeries to children with physical disabilities and are excited about the opportunity we have to make a difference," said Lehram.

The hospital has been designed with children in mind and comes equipped with a Timmy's Playroom, a special room where child patients can take a break from medical treatments to enjoy some playtime. It is the sixth Timmy's Playroom to open and is the first one to open outside the United States.

As for Tebow, the kind-hearted athlete said that the Philippines will always hold a special place in his heart as it is the place where he was born.

"I'm excited to be a part of this hospital that will bring physical and spiritual healing to thousands of children who would not otherwise have access to care," he shared.
