After the confirmation of the third season of the hit horror anime "Tokyo Ghoul," fans are now waiting for more information regarding the plot twists that will appear in the upcoming episodes. Avid viewers are eager to see whether or not the new season of the anime will be faithful to the source material — namely the "Tokyo Ghoul" manga — or deviate and form its own story from there.

According to News Everyday, there is only one thing that will happen for sure in the new season: the introduction of a new character. It is speculated that the main protagonist of the "Tokyo Ghoul: RE" manga — Sasaki Hayise — will be introduced as the new main character for the third season of "Tokyo Ghoul."

The character, as fans can remember, is described as having both black and white hair who works as a Ghoul Investigator for the Commission of Counter Ghoul (CCG).

Fans of the series are quick to point out the similarities between Sasaki and the protagonist of the first two seasons of "Tokyo Ghoul," Ken Kaneki. Some of them are even saying that they are one and the same, and for those who have read the manga, they know this to be a fact: Sasaki Haise and Ken Kaneki are the same person.

Regardless of whatever happens, the University Herald reports that the scriptwriters for "Tokyo Ghoul" claimed that the new season will feature psychologically disturbing themes as well as episodes. They will certainly be too dark for younger audiences, and as such it is speculated that the anime release in television will mostly be censored for their sake.

The reason behind this is clear as Studio Madhouse — the same studio that created the gory action-horror anime "Hellsing" — will be taking over the new season instead of Studio Pierrot. In any case, more updates will be posted about the anime soon.
