Top 5 smartphones for less than $99: Galaxy S5, Moto X, HTC One M8, LG G3, and iPhone 5S

The iPhone 5S (Apple)

Christmas is near and people are looking for the right stocking stuffers that will fit the budget. Smartphones, surely, tops the list as the apt electronic gift option this holiday season but, of course, the devices must not burn a hole in the pocket.

Below are the top five smartphones one can buy for $99 or less.

Samsung Galaxy S5

Buyers can take home the Samsung Galaxy S5 for only $79 with a two-year contract, down from the original price of $139, in Walmart. Although many reports claim that the Galaxy S5 has lost its glimmer and popularity, it is still one of the fairer smartphones in the market, especially if one is getting it at such a low price.

Moto X (2014)

Moto X (2014) is another smartphone holiday shoppers can consider. For $99 under a two-year commitment, consumers can already take home one of the top handsets in the market. Released only recently, the second generation of Moto X boasts a 5.2-inch 1080p full HD and edge-to-edge screen display. The handset is encased in a curved metal frame design so that it comfortably fits in the hand. The Moto X (2014) has an integrated voice control like Siri. This allows users to issue voice commands.

HTC One M8

One cannot go wrong in buying the HTC One M8 because its admirable specs and features are paired with a reasonable price. With rumors that the M9 is coming soon, the M8 is being offered for $0 in Amazon or $30 in Best Buy. Critics and reviewers give high marks to HTC smartphones.

iPhone 5S

Although iPhone 5S was released last year, the handset is still one of the top handsets in the market with its 4-inch screen display, A7 processor, M7 co-processor, 8-megapixel iSight camera and fair battery capacity. Buyers can avail the iPhone 5S for $49 in Walmart. The same as the others, buyers need to sign a two-year contract.

LG G3

LG managed to gain attention in the market with the release of some of its top smartphones. Consumers can take home the LG G3 for no upfront price under AT&T Next Installment. The total price of the handset will be added to the monthly subscription fee. AT&T also offers the LG bundle that will allow consumers to buy the LG G Pad 7.0 for a dollar.
