"Total War" fans are already aware that a new game is currently in development. Game developer Creative Assembly recently shared a minute detail for the new one, hinting at an era that they have not done before.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Mike Simpson, the studio's creative director has reassured the fans that a new game will be coming to town. Simpson said, "Yes, it's a brand new era. It's not something we've done before."

This means that wars that concern the Japanese Shoguns, the Roman republic, or the medieval conflicts in Europe are not on the list. This also includes the wars led by Napoleon, Spartan, and Atila, which were all represented in the series.

Although no other details were mentioned during the interview, fans are now speculating on the possible era that the new game will go about. Eurogamer is putting its money in China, around the Three Kingdoms period, while fans on Reddit mentioned the Victorian or Edwardian period. The period prior to the American Civil War is also a candidate, as well as the 13th-century conflicts.

In the meantime, since it will take quite some time before the new title gets released, "Total War: Warhammer" gamers are looking forward to the upcoming "Realm of The Wood Elves" DLC. The studio will release its biggest DLC to date on Dec. 8, and it will introduce the powerful race. It is a part of the Grand Campaign of the game, but it will also bring in mini-campaigns.

The new expansion pack is described as: "To outsiders, the forest realm of Athel Loren is a brooding and malicious place. The creak and groan of living wood echoes from its dim interior, the canopy seems to absorb all light, and half-seen spirits dart between the twilit bowers. To enter is to place your fate in their hands."

"Total War: Warhammer" is the tenth game of the main series, and it is available for Windows PC, Linux, and Mac OS.
