The fifth installment of "Transformers" will feature the return of the ruthless Decepticon leader Megatron, according to a teaser from director Michael Bay.

The filmmaker confirmed Megatron's return through his latest post on Instagram, showing the fiercely redesigned face of the leader of the Autobots' greatest nemesis. He also stated that filming for the "Transformers: The Last Knight" will start this week.

Bay earlier announced that he will no longer return to direct the next film under the "Transformers" movie franchise after "Transformers: Age of Distinction." But at the beginning of the year, the filmmaker retracted his statement in an interview with Rolling Stone.

The director will work on the script by "Iron Man" scriptwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum and "Black Hawk Down" writer Ken Nolan. The film will be produced by Don Murphy, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Tom DeSanto.

Fans of the series last saw Megatron after Optimus Prime defeated the Decepticon leader in the third "Transformers" film called "Transformers: Dark Moon" released in 2011.

The cast of "Transformers: The Last Knight" includes Mark Wahlberg, who will reprise his role as Cade Yeager from "Transformers: Age of Extinction." Isabela Moner from "100 Things to Do Before High School" will portray the film's lead female character named Izabella. Original "Transformers" star Josh Duhamel will also return as Lieutenant Colonel Will Lennox.

"Neighbors" star Jerrod Carmichael is also reported to be a part of the cast in a still unspecified role.

According to reports, the fifth "Transformers" film will start shooting in Detroit in June 6. The production will be transferred to different locations all over the world in the coming days. Some of the reported locations include Chicago and London. However, principal photography for the film already began on May 25 in Havana, Cuba.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" is set for release on June 23, 2017.

More recently, I’ve enjoyed Christian movies Unsung Hero and Jesus Revolution on limited release in the UK, but it’s rare for such films to make the multiplex chains.
