The trailer of "True Detective" season 2 will most likely appear soon as new photos of lead stars Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch were posted in the show's official Twitter account

The new set of images show the actors in action in the new set of the renewed season of the highly-acclaimed show. They feature Farrell donning a mustache, looking like a veteran law enforcer, contrasting Kitsch's laid back and slightly unshaven look.

The details about the second season of "True Detective" are scarce, but Moviepilot published a synopsis saying that the second season will follow the murder of a character named Ben Caspar, a corrupt manager in California. The body is found with satanic symbols on his chest. Moreover, the sudden murder is probably related to a transportation deal that will solve the gridlock problem.

Farrell will be Ray Velcoro, a corrupt detective that has connections with the gang, while Kitsch will play as Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and a motor patrol officer running away from a mess. Along with the two actors is Vince Vaughn who will take on the role of Frank Semyon, a career criminal moving into the legitimate side of the road. Rounding up the pack is Rachel McAdams who will play Detective Ani Bezzerides, a straight A enforcer clashing with her colleagues.

The cast also includes Abigail Spencer, Adria Arjona, CS Lee, James Frain, Kelly Reilly, Leven Rambin, Lolita Davidovich, Michael Irby, Rick Springfield, and Riley Smith.

Vaughn spilled some details about the plot details of the "True Detective" episodes.

"It's a totally different story, with its own characters," Vaughn told Playboy Magazine. "The thing that's consistent is the richness of the characters and the quality of the material. That was Louisiana. This is a California-based story, and it was kind of birthed from here. A lot of it is set in Los Angeles. I really like my character. Nic is so great about investigating characters and their complexities in an authentic and engaging way. I want to watch this show not because I'm in it but as a fan of the material."
