UFC 191 takes place on Saturday night with a huge number of top fights lined up. Heading the main fight card for UFC 191 in Las Vegas, Nevada will be Demetrious Johnson vs John Dodson 2 for the Flyweight Title. But the 'Mighty Mouse' and 'The Magician' is just one among a stream of exciting fights tonight. The UFC Fight Pass Early Prelims have a start time of 7 p.m. ET, and the Fox Sports 1 Prelims start at 8 p.m. The Main Fight Card features five big fights and has a scheduled start time of 10 p.m. ET, and can be watched on UFC PPV via the link below.
There is a fierce rivalry between UFC Flyweight champ, Demetrious Johnson and No. 1 ranked contender John Dodson, and that is part of the excitement in today's main bout.
There is absolutely no love lost between these two fighters and that should make for an explosive contest.
Johnson for his part is trying to secure his seventh straight title defense, and he has already made it clear that his ultimate goal is to set a record for the most number of successful title defenses in UFC history. The current record is 10, set by former Middleweight champion Anderson Silva. So if Johnson can win today then he will need just three more successful defenses to equal the record.
However, Johnson needs to focus at the job at hand, as Dodson is dangerous, and poses one of the biggest threats to that record. Dodson is well known for his fierce punch, and if Johnson is not careful he could see his dreams over in the blink of an eye.
Johnson is fully aware of Dodson's punching power obviously, as he was floored by one in their first encounter way back in January 2013. In that case Johnson was able to comeback and finished by far the stronger of the two fighters to become the first ever Flyweight champion.
As well as tonight's main match up between Johnson and Dodson, UFC 191 will feature a Light Heavyweight match up between powerhouses Anthony Johnson and Jimi Manuwa, as well as Paige VanZant against Alex Chambers.
The Early Prelims will start at 7 p.m. ET, with the Fox Sports 1 Prelims taking place from 8 p.m. ET. The Main Fight Card has a start time of 10 p.m. ET and can be watched on UFC.tv.
