West Ham United will be continuing their English Premier League (EPL) campaign today, Monday, hosting Newcastle United at the Boleyn Park as they look for a second consecutive victory.

The Hammers are coming off a great 3–0 win over Liverpool in their last league match which gave them a 2–0–2 record for six points, enough to currently keep them in the middle of the table.

Striker Andy Carroll, who is recovering from a knee injury, could be playing against Newcastle, according to BBC Sport.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilić said, according to reports, that he plans to moderate Carroll's playing but added he is tempted to play the 26-year-old striker against Newcastle.

In their matchup against the Magpies, Bilić said, according to BBC Sport, "It is very important. We need to win at home, or at least to get something from the game because we need to build on our great away results."

BBC Sport added that midfielder Alex Song, who is on loan from FC Barcelona, will be out due to an ankle woe.

But new signings midfielders Victor Moses and Michail Antonio with forward Nikica Jelavić are good to go.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are yet to capture a win this season in the EPL, having only two points so far in four games played.

The Magpies' first league match against Southampton ended in a 2–2 draw. It was followed by a 2–0 defeat against Swansea City; a scoreless draw facing Manchester United; and a 1–0 loss to Arsenal.

Newcastle hope to end the winless slump and get a victory to break a triple tie with Stoke City and Sunderland at the bottom of the table.

Club manager Steve McClaren said, according to BBC Sports, "We need the breaks. We need to play better football, create more chances and score more goals and the results will come."

The match between West Ham and Newcastle United will take place on today, Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. EST or at 8 p.m. BST and will be shown on Sky Sports 1 and NBCSN.
