Two clubs victorious in their last matches in the English Premier League (EPL) will collide today, Saturday, when West Ham United hosts defending champions Chelsea at Upton Park.
West Ham is riding a three-game unbeaten streak in the EPL following 2–2 draws with Norwich City and Sunderland, and a 3–1 win over Crystal Palace.
Currently, the Hammers are fourth in the Premier League table with 17 points, four points behind the league-leading Manchester City (21 points).
A win for West Ham may catapult them to the second place since the third and fourth clubs in the table are Arsenal and Manchester United, which both have 19 points.
In a report by BBC Sport, West Ham manager Slaven Bilić spoke about playing at their home field.
"We have played some really good stuff, but we have to be more patient when we play at home," Bilić said, according to the report.
"We have that patience away, and we scored goals at Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool at the right times. We are trying to approach the game in the same way, regardless of where we play," he added.
Meanwhile, Chelsea is struggling this season and is in the bottom half of the Premier League Table at the 12th place with 11 points, tied with 13th placer West Bromwich Albion.
The Blues are coming off a scoreless draw with FC Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League but in their last EPL match won against Aston Villa 2–0.
Chelsea manager José Mourinho spoke about the outcome of their recent matches and how it affected the club positively saying, according to BBC Sport, "The mood improves with results and people are happy."
A win against West Ham will give the Blues 14 points, which may help them break into the top ten of the Premier League table.
