"Witchfire" was announced earlier at the 2017 Game Awards. The world premiere gave excited gamers everywhere a look at the game's gothic features and its well-detailed settings.

The trailer was uploaded to The Game Awards' YouTube channel on Dec. 7.

Serving as the world's first glimpse of "Witchfire," the one minute and a 20-second sneak peek begins in a lush and beautiful forest. The protagonist encounters a strange skull within a stone followed. As they examine it, a bright green portal opens up beneath one of the forests' large trees

What follows is a tour of the game's scenery, from cemeteries to buildings surrounded by ancient-looking statues. The scenery is not the only thing that players will get a glimpse of — the game includes a rather tense scene where the player character is wandering around with guns in their hands. They stop in front of a strange snail-like creature and surprisingly, the creature turns out to be a hostile one

Other enemies and other weapons are featured alongside some of the game's battle mechanics. This early on, not much has been revealed about "Witchfire." However, the game seems to be set in a dreary world inhabited by scary monsters and red-eyed zombies.

The upcoming game is being developed by The Astronauts, the same team who developed "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter." The latter was a first-person mystery game that received very positive ratings on entertainment distribution website Steam.

Aside from "Witchfire," several other trailers were also released at the Game Awards 2017.

One of the other games that were revealed at the Game Awards 2017 was "World War Z." It is based on the movie of the same title "World War Z." It is a four-player cooperative zombie shooter that focuses on four survivors as they make their way through different campaigns.

The campaigns in "World War Z" are set in different parts of the world — each telling the stories of different countries and survivors from those places.
