'Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus' release date news: Bethesda announces DLC roadmap and official dates

"Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus" post-launch roadmap Bethesda

The previously announced downloadable contents (DLCs) for "Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus" have just received their official release dates.

"Episode Zero", the prologue episode, is already available to players who pre-ordered the game, as well as to season pass holders. It introduces the three characters — Joseph Stallion, Jessica Valiant, and Gerald Wilkins — each of whom will be starring in their own DLC story. Each of the new crew has their own offensive abilities and weapons, and their adventure gives players a unique view of the fight for the American territories.

Bethesda announced on Monday that the first DLC pack, "The Adventures of Gunslinger Joe," will be released on Dec. 14. This add-on controls Stallion, a former NFL quarterback who fights back against the Nazi dominance from the ruins of Chicago to the vastness of space.

The second pack, titled "The Diaries of Agent Silent Death," will follow on Jan. 30, focusing on the exploits of Valiant, a former Office of Strategic Services (OSS) agent who fights the Nazi war-machine in California to expose the secrets of Operation San Andreas. According to Engadget, her character sports an upgrade for a stealthier playstyle, allowing players to slip inside small tunnels

The final DLC pack, "The Amazing Deeds of Captain Wilkins," will arrive sometime March, centering on US Army hero Captain Gerald Wilkins, who embarks on a mission to Alaska to stop Nazi Operation Black Sun.

The four DLC packs, including the prologue, will offer more than nine hours of additional content, so that is about three hours per episode. Gamers can get all three DLCs in the game's $25 Season Pass or buy them individually for a yet-to-be-announced per-episode price.

"Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus" was released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One last Oct. 27. It picks up where "The New Order" left off, with B.J. Blazkowicz now in America, seeking to overthrow the Nazi regime. The second installment will be released on Nintendo Switch as well in 2018.
