WWE rumors: Wrestlemania 33 to see John Cena and The Undertaker this time?

The lead up to Wrestlemania 32 was rife with rumors that John Cena and the Undertaker would fight it off in the ring. Much to everybody's disappointment, that never happened. This time around, the rumors are back.

It appears that Vince McMahon, who is the ultimate authority at WWE, is fairly confident that he can convince the two legends to battle it out in Wrestlemania 33. Health Aim gives an account of these developments, and it seems plausible that the great Cena vs. the Undertaker showdown may actually happen.

During Wrestlemania 30, the Undertaker's continuous streak of success was broken at Dallas by Brock Lesnar.

Meanwhile, Cena suffered from an injury to his shoulder, and had to stay away from most of the matches during Mania 32. As WWE fans will recall, he made a brief appearance when he sided with the Rock against The Wyatt Family. By the end of the Mania 32 matches, Undertaker supposedly hinted at his possible retirement from the ring.

This has further fuelled the anticipation that surrounds a Cena vs. the Undertaker match, and has made McMahon increasingly determined to make the rumor a reality. Ringtalkk reports that the rumors mill was spurred on by the news that the Undertaker re-tweeted a fan-made picture of a faceoff between the two legends.

The next series of matches is likely to take place at Orlando. And if the much-awaited battle does come to pass, it would undoubtedly be a nail-biting experience for Wrestlemania fans all over the world.

John Cena has been holding the top spot for the last 14 years, while the Undertaker has had a famous 23 to 1 track record. Given that it might well be the Undertaker's last match, as well as Cena's comeback after his noticeable absence during the last set of matches, Wrestlemania 33 is all set for a high octane combat.
