Xbox Live Games with Gold news: Free games prediction for April 2016

 Xbox Live Official Website

It is still the middle of March but Xbox Live Gold members are undoubtedly looking forward to finding out which games they will get for free next month. There is no official announcement yet on the list of free games for April, but a speculation has already surfaced.

"Dark Souls," according to Christian Today, will be a backward-compatible game and might become available next month. This is in line with the release of "Dark Souls III" this month, in which the original game is given as a bonus for those who pre-order the new one. With this, the first game in the series just might become available for free for members of the Xbox Live Gold program.

While waiting for the next batch of free games, Xbox Live Gold members who are using the Xbox 360 console can download and enjoy "Borderlands," available from March 16 to 31. Originally priced at $19.99, it is a role-playing game where the player tries to locate an alien vault located on the planet Pandora.

Xbox One users can also own "Borderlands" and play it via the console's backward compatibility feature. Also, "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments" is still free to download until the end of the month while "Lords of the Fallen" is available from March 16 until April 15. The former, normally bearing a $29.99 price tag, takes players to Victorian-era London where they find clues and solve crimes, just like the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. The latter, meanwhile, is a role-playing game where the player takes on the role of criminal named Harkyn, who is tasked to stop demons from taking over the world. It has a regular price of $39.99 but is free for now for Xbox Live Gold members who use the Xbox One console.

The Xbox Live Games with Gold is a program for Xbox players whose members are entitled to free titles each month plus discounts on a huge number of games. There is a one-month free trial while a month of membership costs $9.99, three months is priced at $24.99 and 12 months is at $59.99.
