Xiaomi finally unveiled its newest flagship, Xiaomi Mi 6, last week. With the device's excellent specifications and features, along with its relatively low cost, it is no surprise that fans are already lining up to get the new device. There are even reports that one of its variants has production issues.

According to Android Headlines, there are already about 600,000 people who have pre-ordered Xiaomi Mi 6 at the Jingdong Mall, one of China's largest retailers. The number only represents one retailer in China, which may imply that there are more people who are lining up to get the new flagship. In fact, the estimate is about 2 million people have pre-ordered Xiaomi Mi 6, although the number is yet to be confirmed.

When Xiaomi Mi 6 was launched, interested fans learned that they can choose among the color options of black, blue, silver, and white. However, there are reports that the silver variant of Xiaomi Mi 6 is facing production issues. According to Xiaomi officials, the silver edition, which many believe is the most impressive version of the new flagship, is limited because producing it involves "extremely tough electroplating process."

This means that in order to produce the silver variant, it has to undergo the highly sensitive and vacuum environment in order to keep out any dust. Any dust or impurity that goes to the device will make the entire batch useless when it goes through electroplating.

Xiaomi Mi 6 comes in a 5.15-inch full high-definition (HD) display at 1920x1080 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, while a Kyro core Adreno 540 is dedicated for its graphics processing unit (GPU). The device comes with 6 GB of RAM, along with internal storage options of 64 GB and 128 GB.

Other notable features of Xiaomi Mi 6 include Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, as well as the "Eye Care" technology, which can filter blue light.

The smartphone is scheduled to be released on Friday, April 28.
