Xiaomi has finally confirmed the launch date of its newest flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 6.

Earlier this month, Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun confirmed during a live stream that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be unveiled in April. Initial speculations point to dates from April 11 to April 18, but a recent teaser from the company confirms when Xiaomi Mi 6 will be unveiled.

In the teaser, the Chinese company reveals that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be unveiled on Wednesday, April 19, at the Beijing University of Technology gymnasium. The upcoming flagship may have excellent features that are worth the wait, as Xiaomi teases, "You waited for 203 days, we waited for seven years."

Although fans know when exactly will they learn more about the Xiaomi Mi 6, they are still in the dark regarding the specifications and new features of the upcoming flagship. Nonetheless, a GFXBench test leak a few days ago has given hints on the possible specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 6.

The leak reveals that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in a 5.1-inch full high-definition display screen. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 central processing unit (CPU) and a Qualcomm Adreno 540 for the flagship's graphics processing unit (GPU). The Xiaomi Mi 6 is also anticipated to come with options of either 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage.

Aside from these, other features anticipated for the Xiaomi Mi 6 include a 12-megapixel main camera, 7-megapixel secondary shooter, and the capability to record 4K video resolution from both lenses. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to come with Android 7.1.1 out of the box.

There were also rumors earlier that Xiaomi Mi 6 may come in two or three variants with different storage sizes and chipsets. It is good that fans will just have a week more to wait in order to find out about the Xiaomi Mi 6.
