Xiaomi has given its rivals, including Apple, another reason to be wary of the Chinese manufacturer. The company's recently launched Xiaomi Mi Note was sold out in three minutes.

In its Weibo account, Xiaomi recorded an incredible feat and gained another achievement under its belt after the first sale of Xiaomi Mi Note was a total success. Although the number of units sold in the first sale was unknown, reports stated that the supply is constrained yielding to a smaller number of units sold.

Due to the success of the first sale, Xiaomi will hold the second sale on Feb. 3. It is still unknown how many units will be available for sale. However, Xiaomi has a target of 100 million devices to be sold this year, which is a tremendous jump from last year's 61 million sales.

Xiaomi Mi Note was released this month with a 5.7 inch screen display with Full HD pixel resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 SoC paired with Adreno 330 graphics co-processor. The smartphone has 3 GB of RAM and is available in 16 GB and 64 GB internal storage variants. Its camera is composed of 13 MP at the back and 4 MP at the front. It will run with Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS.

Xiaomi's highway to success

Xiaomi is a China-based OEM manufacturer that despite its short history has become very successful in its home court and is currently inching its way in the global market. Xiaomi made a name in China by releasing devices that resemble Apple products.

Xiaomi was just founded in 2010 and in less than five years, it has become one of the most sought after brands in China.

Earlier this month, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced that the company's sales in 2014 reached a whopping $12.1 billion, which is a 135 percent increase from 2013. The company also shipped over 61 million devices worldwide.
