Xiaomi Redmi 4 release date news, specs rumors: Device out in China; affordable yet with impressive specs

Chinese phone manufacturer Xiaomi will be announcing their new flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi 4, and Xiaomi fans are getting hyped over the new smartphone that is speculated to pack a set of impressive specs for a cheaper price than its competitors.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 was recently launched in China at a smartphone event. At the event, the Redmi 4 was launched alongside the cheaper Redmi 4A. Aside from launching their latest smartphones, Xiaomi CEO and Co-Founder Lei Jun teased fans with an insider story about their upcoming smartphone, the Mi Mix.

The Xiamoi Redmi 4 boasts a set of impressive specs at a low cost. The device sports a 5-inch high resolution 1080x1920 pixels display encased in an all metal frame. The Xiaomi phone is available in three colors: Grey, Silver, and Gold.

Other great specs of the Xiaomi Redmi 4 includes a fingerprint scanner found at the back of the phone and a 4000 mAh capacity battery. Even though the phone has a pretty high capacity battery, users do not have to worry about the device being bulky since it still possesses a sleek design with dimensions measuring at 141.3 x 69.6 x 8.9mm. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 only weighs 153 grams.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 comes out of the box with 32 GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 128 GB via the microSD card slot. Users will also be able to do some multitasking with the Redmi 4 since the device is backed up by 3 GB of RAM.

The Xiaomi smartphone will also allow its users to run high quality games since it comes powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor.

As for the Xiaomi Redmi 4's camera, the device sports a powerful 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, coupled with a sharp 5-megapixel front facing camera for selfies.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is expected to be sold for at least $192 USD.
