A trailer for the upcoming open-world video game title by Sega, "Yakuza 6," has just been released -- showing the numerous side activities that players will be able to participate in as the main protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu. These activities will grant players a breather outside of the dark and serious atmosphere of the game's main plot.
In the teaser trailer that was released, it can be seen that players will have so many side-activities to do from working out, playing darts, singing at a karaoke bar, practicing at the batting cages, playing various retro-style arcade video games, going to hostess bars, and so much more. The amount of healthy options in terms of mini-games is usually a good sign, especially for open-world and sandbox type of video game, which "Yakuza 6" is.
The game is set mainly in the cities of Kamurocho and Onomichi, where all of the mini games will be spread out. As it turns out, both cities will have its share of activities for Kazama to take part in, but it would all depend on what type of activity players would be interested in doing at any given time. Apart from practicing Kazama's swing, players are also welcome to join actual baseball tournaments, with a fully dynamic in-game baseball system included in the mix.
Others describe the very specific set of mini-games as a "middle-aged man simulator," especially since most of the activities are very good examples of what middle-aged Japanese males prefer to engage in during their free time. One of the mini-games is also a fighting game simulator that is very similar to the popular arcade game "Virtua Fighter 5," which is also developed by Sega.
Players can also have the chance to talk to some virtual Japanese hostesses, with the freedom of choosing a specific girl through an in-game menu. The menu describes the demeanor of the girl, and each has very distinct facial features.
"Yakuza 6: The Song of Life" will be available for Western gamers on March 20 on the PlayStation 4.
