'The Young and the Restless' Thursday recap, July 3 spoilers: Adam tells Paul about being witness to Jack's shooting

Thursday on "The Young and the Restless," Paul got a call at the station, and the person on the line told him that the ballistics on Victor's gun were in and that it had not been fired for a long time.

At the hospital, Adam told Jack, who was still in a coma, that he was glad he's back. He was wondering why Jack told the woman who called who he is, and hoped that Jack remembers his deal with her. Adam said that Victor would pay.

Outside, Ashley and Phyllis watched and talked about Adam/ Gabe. Phyllis was wondering if Gabe is scheming with Victor, and Ashley said that the DNA test results would be in later. After Adam left, Phyllis told Jack that she didn't trust Gabe. She wanted him to wake up and tell her about what happened in the park.

At Newman, Ashley and Chelsea talked about Victor's embezzlement charges being dropped. Adam arrived, and Ashley was wondering why Billy and Victoria weren't there. Victor announced that he was stepping down and that he was appointing Jack's son, Gabe, as CEO. Ashley asked Victor why he was doing this — does Gabe have something on him? Ashley then realized what it was and shrieked at Victor that Gabe saw him shoot Jack.

At the Underground, Noah talked to Marisa, who told him that she's in trouble. Her boyfriend is dangerous and would want her gone. Noah asked her if she'd stay in town, and Marisa said yes but she needed a job. Later, Nick and Sage arrived and they learned that Noah has offered Marisa a job. Nick pulled Noah aside and told him that he thinks Victor shot Jack.

Phyllis found Victor in Jack's hospital room and accused him of shooting Jack. Jack opened his eyes, and Phyllis asked him who shot him. Jack pointed at Victor.

At Jabot, Ashley found out the results of Jack's and Gabe's DNA tests — they match.

Here's what to expect on "The Young and the Restless" on Friday, July 3: Paul says that no one saw Victor shoot Jack, but Adam says that's not true; the walls close in on Adam; Lily calls a truce with Devon and Hilary; fireworks erupt between Ashley and Stitch.

"The Young and the Restless" airs Mondays to Fridays at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
