Motorola seems to be moving at a fast pace when it comes to the Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Lenovo-owned company rolled out Google's newest operating system to the Google Play Editions of the Moto G and Moto X (Second Generation) in the United States last month. Verizon customers who are  users of the newer Moto X should also be enjoying the enhancements and the Material Design Lollipop brings to the table at this point.

As per Motorola, which refreshed its Update Services app on Monday, the next handset set to get the sweet treat turns out to be the first generation Moto G.

The change log for it reads, "This update is necessary to enable a future upgrade of your device to Android 5.0, Lollipop."

The specific date is still not known but these users are definitely just a stone's throw away from getting the update, which will be made available OTA (over-the-air).

On the other hand, Gadgets NDTV reports that Android 5.0 Lollipop will come to Moto G users in India soon. According to the site, Motorola has been sending soak test invites to Moto G (First Generation) users who are part of the Motorola Feedback Network. The invite is as follows:

"Thanks for joining the Motorola Feedback Network. We are inviting owners of the Moto G in India to participate in an early preview of a new software release and provide feedback."

As per IB Times, Motorola eyes a positive feedback from the participants as their go-signal to get Lollipop off the ground and into the original edition of the Moto G. The site adds that by the end of December, this will finally push through.

As for U.S. users who acquired the 2014 edition of the Moto G from their carriers (Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint), Gospel Herald has no word even after it contacted the Motorola help line. The tech company advised the site to "call the carriers" and inquire of the update release directly from them.
