LG has previously announced that the LG G5 will have a beta test for the new Android Nougat 7.0 platform. The feedback might have already been gathered as speculations suggest that the final version will roll out starting next month.

According to a blog post from Australia-based mobile carrier Optus, the LG G5 was listed with a tested version of the Android 7.0 in development. In addition, it is said that the tests are expected to be finished next month, with the final version expected to launch in mid-November.

While it doesn't say that other regions will also come out with the update around the same time, it can be surmised that a global update of the Android 7.0 Nougat for the unlocked, global version of the LG G5 will launch earlier. LG is known to be one of the early adopters of a new Android platform. In fact, it is said that LG has been one to roll out the previous Android Marshmallow 6.0 earlier than expected when the platform launched last year. Additionally, the tech maker is also one of the first to come out with an Android Nougat-run device right out of the box, when it launched the new flagship LG V20 already with the Android 7.0 onboard.

In addition, LG also announced early on that it started testing the Android Nougat 7.0 platform for the LG G5, although the test was limited to South Korea. It can be expected, though, that the test was done to prepare for the global update of the new platform to the unlocked, global version of the LG G-series flagship.

Meanwhile, a November release for the Android 7.0 platform is already expected and not only to LG flagships. Tech makers like Samsung and HTC have already announced that they intend to update their devices to Android 7.0 before the year ends.
