Arsenal transfer rumours, news: Gunners inch closer to sealing the deal with Alexis Sanchez

Arsenal appear to be on the brink of signing Alexis Sanches in a deal worth nearly £35m.

BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein tweeted on Thursday that the Chile forward was undergoing a medical and that the final fee was around the £35m mark.

But he added that the 25-year-old was "not unveiled at kit launch".

It's rumoured Arsene Wenger has his eye on several others to regain some of the pace Arsenal struggled to bring to their game after Theo Walcott bowed out with a knee injury.

Some of the names being connected to Arsenal are QPR's Loic Remy, who the Daily Mirror's John Cross wrote was "keen on the switch, having been spotted in the stands at the Emirates during an April match against West Brom".

The 27-year-old France international has certainly proved his ability, scoring 14 Premier League goals for Newcastle while on loan last season.

Meanwhile, Goal.com's Wayne Veysey thinks Wenger is looking to team Sanchez up with Shakhtar Donetsk attacker and Brazil international Bernard.
