It seems like the first side-scrolling title game from the "Assassin's Creed" franchise will soon be released in mobile phone devices, if rumors turn out to be accurate.

The recently released downloadable video game for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles called "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China" is rumored for mobile devices after it was featured in Pocket Gamer.

The initial report claimed that even if Ubisoft did not mention any plans about the mobile version of the game, a PG reader named Himmat Singh spotted an unexpected inclusion in the game's .ini files that show various settings for iOS and Android devices.

It could mean that the game developer had been considering releasing the game in mobile form, or they could have initially planned to make one but scrapped the idea at the last minute.

However, Ubisoft recently released their official statement regarding the speculations about the mobile version of the Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China.

The Ubisoft representative stated: "We do not comment on rumour or speculation."

Still, some fans are still not losing hope about the possibility of having an iOS and Android version of the downloadable game despite the latest Ubisoft announcement.

"Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China" is the first installment from the planned Assassin's Creed spin-off side-scrolling 2.5D video game series. It was released on April 21 this year.

It follows the adventures of Shao Jun, who is described as the only remaining Assassin from the Chinese Brotherhood. She reportedly returned to China in 1526 to embark on her adventure to revenge against the members of the Templars by killing them to restore the fallen glory of her beloved Brotherhood.

Other titles from the Assassin's Creed Chronicles series include the "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India" which will feature Arbaaz Mir, as well as "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia" which follows the adventures of Nikolai Orelov.
