Ubisoft is taking a different approach in putting together its next "Assassin's Creed" game, and that is giving less focus on scripted stories and more on the exploration of the worlds.

In an interview with Le Monde, Ubisoft chief creative officer Serge Hascoet said that they are looking to create "interesting" worlds with the use of the "anecdote factory" method.

With it, the next "Assassin's Creed" installment should provide players with the necessary instruments to make a game that will cater to their own definition of fun and make them in charge rather than following a predesigned story.

"I don't want the player to go through a story created by someone," Hascoet said, adding that they would want to see gamers be able to express themselves.

"We have games like that still, but I ask more and more that we let the player write their own story — that they set themselves a long-term goal, identify the opportunities that are open to them and choose not to follow a path that was decided for them," he went on to say.

As for details on the next of "Assassin's Creed," there are a lot of rumors that suggest it will be subtitled "Empire" and will take players to explore the ancient pyramids and tombs in Egypt.

This information was first revealed by a Reddit user named 4chan who claimed to be an employee at Ubisoft. This was then backed up by Kotaku, which has provided accurate information about the video game series in the past.

Just recently, these "Assassin's Creed Empire" reports were fortified by another one of Ubisoft's titles, "Watch Dogs 2." A mission in the game features two Ubisoft employees in the game expressing their worries about the trailer for their new "Assassin's Creed" game being leaked.

One employee asked assurance that leak involving "Unity, Syndicate [and] Osiris" will not happen. The first two are, of course, names of previous "Assassin's Creed" titles.

"Osiris," however, is not. This puts many under the impression that the new title in the series will not be "Assassin's Creed Empire," but "Assassin's Creed Osiris" instead.

Interestingly, a clip teasing a Ubisoft game called "Osiris" was leaked in the past so this could be it. This also falls in line with the rumored Egypt setting.

However, fans should take it with a grain of salt as Ubisoft may just be messing with fans. The next "Assassin's Creed" installment is slated to be released in 2018.
